Oklahoma DOC to Host Career Fair at SWOSU Campus in Sayre

Sayre – Recruiters with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC) will host a career fair at the administration building at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) campus in Sayre on Tuesday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Interested applicants are asked to bring a form of identification and a resume if available. Officials with the DOC will be on-site to interview applicants.

Despite the recently announced hiring freeze, the agency is still hiring critical and hard to fill positions.

Positions available at the career fair include: correctional officers at all levels, cadet through sergeant; medical services personnel, including: nurses, doctors, psychologists, dentists, pharmacists and physician’s assistants; mental health professionals; and food services workers.

For some of the available positions, no prior experience is necessary and interested applicants are encouraged to apply.

Corrections Director Joe M. Allbaugh said the agency is looking to fill these positions with individuals who want to grow into a rewarding career.

“The agency is in need of individuals who want to move up and become leaders within the department,” Allbaugh said. “Right now we have a serious shortage in all of these positions. We are looking for individuals who want to protect and serve their fellow Oklahomans. We are encouraging everyone who is looking for a new career to come out and apply.”

Interested applicants are asked to check the state’s job site on the DOC page. For more information, click here.
