    MCALESTER, Okla. – An inmate walked away late Saturday morning from minimum-security Jackie Brannon Correctional Center. Christopher Jacobs, at left, was discovered missing around 10 a.m. Jacobs, 39, is serving multiple Pittsburg County sentences for grand larceny, second-degree burglary, false impersonation, possession of stolen property and vehicle theft.Other facility inmates told ODOC staff that a vehicle picked up Jacobs and fled.   Read More...

    JBCC walkaway Kenneth Laws back in custody

    MCALESTER, Okla. -- An inmate who walked away from Jackie Brannon Correctional Center early Wednesday morning is back in custody. Oklahoma Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension and Investigations agents, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and Hughes County Sheriff's deputies participated in the apprehension of Kenneth Laws, who was found southeast of Stuart. Stuart is about 20 miles east of McAlester.     MCALESTER, Okla. – A man serving time for car theft walked away Friday night from Jackie Brannon Correctional Center, a minimum-security prison for men located in northwest McAlester. At around 7:40 p.m., A K-9 officer on patrol saw Aaron Foote, 48, leave the facility’s chapel service and walk behind the building.
