ODOC graduates 52 correctional officers

HEALDTON, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Department of Corrections graduated 52 correctional security officers Monday at Healdton Assembly of God, culminating its second academy class of 2018.

“It’s an honor to welcome these new, dedicated individuals into our service,” said ODOC Director Joe M. Allbaugh. “Their jobs won’t be easy, but they will join a family united in its mission to protect the public, each other, our inmates and offenders.”

The new officers join more than 1,800 correctional security officers working at 24 ODOC facilities across Oklahoma.

They will help the agency replenish a force that turned over by 25 percent in Fiscal Year 2017.

ODOC has two cadet training academies, the Wilson Training Academy and Satellite Training Academy.
