Lawton Community Corrections Center

Facility Overview

Lawton Community Corrections Center, an all male facility, was opened in April 1973 and is located in the southwestern portion of Lawton, Oklahoma.

LCCC, like the agency’s other community corrections centers, opened as the agency was attempting to create a much smoother transition for the inmates returning to the community. Statistical data supported the presumption that inmates who were released with meaningful employment, adequate transportation, a home, and pro-social associates were less likely to reoffend as opposed to those who did not. The facility was established with the goal of providing the inmates with a steady gradual reentry process to address those issues that would carry over to release/discharge.
