JLCC chapel complete; ribbon cutting held

From left: World Mission Builders' Founder Joe Wilson, architect Glen Short, and John E. Lilley Correctional Center Warden cut the ribbon on JLCC's new chapel, donated by Wilson's nonprofit on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at the facility in Boley.

World Mission Builders’ sixth chapel for Oklahoma Department of Corrections inmates is up and running!

We had a ribbon-cutting today at John Lilley Correctional Center in Boley, where the wraps came off the brand-new, 5,000 square-foot chapel to the delight of an assembled crowd of inmates who worked on the building, staff, lawmakers and others in attendance.

Chapels at ODOC aren’t just places of worship for the many different faiths represented inside our facilities. Chapels are also places for classes, inmate group meetings and graduations.

ODOC Director Joe M. Allbaugh attended Friday’s ribbon-cutting. He thanked World Mission Builders and its volunteers, as well as the thousands of volunteers who contribute to ODOC daily.

This chapel is an incredible addition to JLCC, and will see a ton of use from its XXXX inmates each day.

JLCC houses more than 800 minimum-security inmates, most of whom are near the end of the end of their sentences.
