The Communications Office manages all internal and external communications related to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to educate and inform the public, media, and employees. The office strives to provide timely and accurate information through the use of media relations, electronic communications, and publications.

The office is responsible for answering media inquiries, providing interviews, and facilitating video requests, as well as updating the agency’s website, producing publications, and facilitating tours. The office recently took over responsibility for the agency’s employee recognition ceremony, citizens’ academies, and yearly public safety forum.

The agency’s legislative liaison also reports to the communications office.
